The Taking Flight Rugby Scholarship was created by three unique partners to deliver an initiative centered on sending promising American rugby athletes to elite training camps to better their skill. A Rugby Life was founded by Hedley Lagrand as a blog and podcast sharing stories, events, and insights into the people that live and breath rugby in the USA. Since moving to the USA in early 2000 Hedley has resided in Boston, Washington DC, and New York and in each place has been actively involved in their respective rugby scenes. In Massachusetts, he played for MIT Rugby Club. In DC, he played and coached for the Washington Renegades and also took up the whistle as a referee under the guidance of the Potomac Referee Society and in NYC, he assisted coaching the ladies of the Village Lions.
